Director, Europe BD & Strategic Partnership
We are an innovative biopharmaceutical company specializing in the early-stage research and development of biologic drugs, particularly large molecule therapeutics (antibody drug, cell and gene therapy). Our current projects are on the cusp of entering clinical trials, and we are seeking a highly experienced Director of Business Development based in Europe to drive the out-licensing of these projects. This role will also encompass fundraising efforts to secure the financial resources necessary to support our ongoing R&D and operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, particularly in establishing partnerships with large pharmaceutical companies, multinational corporations (MNCs), and medium-sized biopharma companies in Europe.
Responsibilities
- Lead BD activities in Europe, focusing on out-licensing biologic drug projects entering clinical trials.
- Identify and establish strategic partnerships with large pharmaceutical companies, MNCs, and medium-sized biopharma companies to secure licensing agreements.
- Develop and execute BD strategies that align with the company’s objectives to generate cash flow through project licensing, supporting other R&D and operational activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams (research, clinical, regulatory affairs) to ensure successful project licensing and alignment with company goals.
- Monitor and analyze market trends in the biopharmaceutical industry, particularly in biologic drugs and large molecule therapeutics.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to the executive team based on market analysis and competitive intelligence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, biotechnology, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, PhD) is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in business development within the biopharmaceutical industry, with a focus on biologic drugs and large molecule therapeutics. R&D experience in drug development is preferred.
- Proven track record in securing licensing agreements and driving projects through early-stage development to clinical trials.
- Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape in Europe.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with fluency in English and Mandarin (preferred).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a global team.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
