Your core tasks will include:
- Assisting with the execution of industrial automation projects from design through to installation/commissioning
- Mechanical and electrical assembly
- Robot programming (online and offline)
- PMC/HMI/PLC programming
- Commissioning and fault finding (electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems)
- Customer training
- Technical assistance (including customers, other employees, suppliers)
- Supervision of other employees, apprentices and contractors
- Sales support (customer visits, trials and demonstrations)
- Assist other departments as required
Responsible to the Engineering Manager for overall performance, but on a day-to-day basis for work tasks, the engineer reports to the project manager to whom he/she is assigned. Involves extensive travel within the UK and occasionally abroad.
Your profile:
- Formal qualification(s) and experience in electro-mechanical engineering
- Knowledge of installation, commissioning and programming of industrial robots
- PMC/HMI/PLC programming knowledge
- Welding experience, ideally within robotic welding, automated manufacturing or industrial production environments, is highly preferred
- CAD and offline programming/simulation knowledge
- Excellent problem analysis, resolution and documentation skills
- Flexible and resilient, able to adapt to an always-changing role
- Determined to get the job done and flexibility to adapt to changing requirements
- Fast learner and able to learn ‘on the job’
- Self-motivated and confident personality, able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Project engineers must demonstrate knowledge of engineering principles, practices and methods, environmental regulations, engineering project management methods, workplace safety, and employee/contractor supervision
- Must be flexible and able to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Be competent in handling simultaneously occurring tasks and smaller projects, and have excellent written and oral communication skills
You may be required to provide assistance in other departments and provide training to customers and other staff.
The candidate should ideally be located within a 30-40 minute commute of the FANUC UK office in Coventry and must have the legal right to work in the UK.
