This is a part-time Faculty position (up to 18 hours per week) that aims to start September 7, 2026 and continue up to December 2026, with possibility of future contract for the next academic term.
If offered 1 - 6 (Part-time), or 13+ (Sessional) hours of teaching, rate of pay is $103.77. If offered 7 - 12 hours (Partial Load) of teaching, rate of pay is according to the Collective Agreement.
This is a call for applications on a confidential academic program that will be released to candidates upon hire. Hiring is conditional upon the approval of this program.
Duties: Reporting to the Program Liaison, part-time Professors are responsible for teaching courses within the Faculty of Science, Trades, Technology, and Design for Aviation Technician – Aircraft Maintenance, Aviation Technician – Avionics Maintenance, and Aircraft Structural Repair Technician. Hired part-time faculty should develop an effective learning environment for students.
Specific Qualifications:
- Holds a college diploma or certificate in an AME program in Canada or has equivalent RCAF aircraft maintenance education and training.
- Has a minimum of 5 years of practical hands-on experience as a licensed AME in Aircraft Maintenance or manufacturing in Civil Aviation in Canada or has a minimum of 5 years practical hands-on experience as a Level-A technician for any RCAF aircraft fleet(s).
- Must have recent aircraft maintenance or aircraft maintenance training experience.
General Qualifications:
- Combination of excellent leadership and teaching skills with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success.
- Excellent communicator with a strong commitment to student access.
- Prior instructional experience is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to relate effectively to a wide variety of learners.
- Strong technical/computer skills and familiarity with educational technologies are required.
- Experience in formal teaching positions (i.e. Clinical instructors, teaching assistants, classroom leadership, etc.) an asset.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment.
- Related industry work experience, previous college teaching experience and knowledge of curriculum design and student evaluations are assets.
