The Role:
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
- Repair faults on-site or coordinate the installation of replacement machinery or equipment where necessary.
- Inspect, overhaul, maintain, repair, and replace worn or defective components to ensure the safe and reliable operation of plant and equipment.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in accordance with maintenance schedules to maximise equipment performance and reliability.
- Complete all scheduled maintenance activities efficiently while complying with company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Complete product changeovers on production equipment in accordance with production schedules and standard operating procedures.
- Work collaboratively with external contractors on site, ensuring all food safety, quality, and health and safety standards are fully adhered to.
The Person:
- Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role within a food manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong fault-finding, repair, and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) skills on mechanical and/or electrical equipment.
- Good understanding of food safety, health and safety legislation, and safe working practices.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritise workload, and communicate well as part of a team.
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City).
