The Role:

  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
  • Repair faults on-site or coordinate the installation of replacement machinery or equipment where necessary.
  • Inspect, overhaul, maintain, repair, and replace worn or defective components to ensure the safe and reliable operation of plant and equipment.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in accordance with maintenance schedules to maximise equipment performance and reliability.
  • Complete all scheduled maintenance activities efficiently while complying with company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete product changeovers on production equipment in accordance with production schedules and standard operating procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with external contractors on site, ensuring all food safety, quality, and health and safety standards are fully adhered to.

The Person:

  • Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role within a food manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong fault-finding, repair, and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) skills on mechanical and/or electrical equipment.
  • Good understanding of food safety, health and safety legislation, and safe working practices.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritise workload, and communicate well as part of a team.

Preference will be given to candidates with:

  • Recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Multi-Skilled Engineering.

Hours of work are on a two week rotating pattern:

  • Week 1: Monday to Friday 6.00am-2.30pm
  • Week 2: Monday to Friday 2.00pm-10.30pm.

In return all employees will have access to a Healthcare Plan (includes children up to the age of 18), Company Pension with Life Assurance and an active Health and Well Being programme.
