As part of the delivery of our Group Strategic Plan there is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our technical team as a Veterinary Advisor.
The Role: Based in Moira the successful candidate will work closely with the Fane Valley agri businesses to:
- Provide expert animal health/veterinary guidance to Fane Valley customers and shareholders;
- Support the delivery of preventive animal health services, including herd health planning and disease control strategies;
- Assist in troubleshooting livestock health challenges on farm, identifying root causes and recommending effective solutions to support the Fane Valley Agri businesses with on farm problem solving and solutions;
- Design, deliver and evaluate training programmes for Registered Animal Health Advisors on animal health products, protocols and best practices.
The Person: Candidates will be educated to degree level in veterinary science or medicine and registered as a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS); have a minimum of 3 years' experience of working in large animal practice and have developed a strong reputation as a leading Veterinary Practitioner; ability to understand and review technical information and reports to provide sound and correct recommendations for farmers; ability to work independently and be a strong team member; possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills; have excellent presentation skills and desirably have experience of presenting to farmer groups; be IT literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications; a strong commercial acumen with a proven track record in building customer relationships; a comprehensive understanding of the agricultural industry in Northern Ireland; understand farmers needs and the motivation to adopt preventative solutions.
