Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor production processes to ensure full compliance with food safety regulations and quality control standards.
- Identify and resolve production issues promptly to maintain optimal efficiency and minimise downtime.
- Train and mentor new team members, ensuring they understand safety protocols, hygiene standards, and production techniques.
- Take ownership for achieving daily production targets, maintaining efficiency, and ensuring consistent product quality.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with Quality Control, Maintenance, and Despatch teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations across all departments.
The Person:
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and product quality.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced production setting.
- Good communication and collaboration skills, able to work closely with other departments.
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Experience implementing lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
- Relevant Health and Safety qualification (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot minor equipment or process issues.
