  • Coaching and developing other software engineers' technical skills.
  • Leading projects with a holistic view of the strategic direction of the vertical.
  • Defining the architecture of the future, enabling our systems to utilize modern technologies to their fullest while ensuring operational improvements to existing systems.

  • Turning defined designs into code and delivering it on schedule, applying appropriate technologies and current software engineering best practices.
  • Writing secure, stable, testable, maintainable code with minimal defects.
  • Participating in team design, scoping, and prioritization discussions.
  • Working effectively with other team members and identifying any opportunities/problems arising from technical decisions.

What we’re looking for in our next teammate:

  • Degree in Computer Science or related software engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong backend experience with Java.
  • Experience with AWS and understanding DevOps concepts such as IaC (we use Terraform).
  • Experience with event streaming technologies such as SNS/SQS or Kafka.
  • Good grasp on relational, non-relational databases, messaging queues, and handling concurrency.
  • Experience working with high volume systems.
  • Understanding of modern architectures, design patterns, and platform nuances.
  • Strong experience working with cloud-based infrastructure and technologies, preferably AWS.
  • Understanding of containers (e.g., Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Expert experience with testing concepts, test tools, and integrating testing and best practices in the SDLC.
  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
  • Familiarity working in an Agile environment.
  • Passion for working within a fast-paced environment and can adapt to change.

What You Can Expect:

  • Interesting work - working in a fast-paced and ever-changing industry, new problems and exciting solutions are never too far away.
