As a Lead Product Designer at FanDuel, you are a trusted design leader responsible for raising design quality and driving meaningful customer impact across multiple teams or product areas. You combine exceptional craft, strategic thinking, systems design, customer insight, and cross-functional leadership to solve complex customer and business problems. While remaining hands-on, your impact extends to elevating the work of others - you improve ways of working, influence product direction, strengthen design systems and practices, and help teams consistently deliver exceptional customer experiences. You are expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, navigate ambiguity confidently, build alignment across disciplines, and consistently elevate the quality of both products and the design organization.

THE GAME PLAN

  • Lead large, ambiguous product initiatives spanning multiple teams, customer journeys, and business priorities.
  • Connect design decisions directly to measurable customer and business outcomes.
  • Build trusted partnerships with Product, Engineering, Insights, and leadership to inform product direction and strategic decisions.
  • Balance customer needs, business priorities, technical constraints, compliance, and delivery considerations.
  • Guide product decisions through evidence-based design, leveraging research, analytics, and experimentation insight.
  • Raise the quality bar across interaction design, visual design, accessibility, systems thinking, and execution of every project you influence, not just the ones you design.
  • Drive consistency across experiences while knowing when innovation is appropriate.
  • Champion accessible, inclusive, and user-centred design practices.
  • Establish and continuously improve AI-assisted design workflows that increase quality, speed, and consistency across the design process.
  • Ensure AI-assisted work remains grounded in customer insight, accessibility, design-system guidance, business context, engineering realities, and responsible human judgment.
  • Coach and mentor designers through feedback, pairing, design critiques, and responsible AI practices, helping raise both individual capability and overall team quality.

THE STATS

  • Extensive experience shaping and designing complex digital experiences in cross-functional environments.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional craft, product thinking, systems thinking, measurable customer impact, and design leadership.
  • Deep expertise in user-centered design methodologies, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, accessibility, prototyping, design systems, and product strategy.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives without formal authority.
  • Experience using qualitative research, quantitative data, and experimentation insight to shape product strategy and evaluate outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach designers, raise design quality, and influence design practice beyond individual project work.
  • Strong judgment in applying AI-assisted workflows and validating outputs across discovery, ideation, research synthesis, prototyping, documentation, and design execution.
  • Working familiarity with front-end development concepts (particularly React Native, JavaScript or TypeScript, component-based UI, layout systems, and native mobile constraints) is beneficial but not required.
