Team and Role
Launched in 2021, Fanatics Betting and Gaming is the online and retail sports betting subsidiary of Fanatics. The Fanatics Sportsbook is available to 95% of the addressable online sports bettor market in the U.S. Fanatics Casino operates online in several states. FB&G has multiple retail locations and is headquartered in New York with offices elsewhere. As a Manager, Engineering Software with Trading Engineering, you’ll work in the risk and trading domain to build and enhance real-time systems that support FB&G operations and Fanatics’ broader goals. You’ll contribute to a dynamic environment emphasizing learning, innovation, and personal development. In this role, your work will impact the development of sophisticated systems and real-time decision-making, driving innovation in how sports fans engage with the Fanatics ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Lead your team in exploring and applying new technologies and practices, cultivating a culture of innovation and experimentation to deliver an exceptional fan experience.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Quants, and engineering leaders to develop cohesive, user-first solutions aligned with Fanatics’ strategic objectives.
- Use data and metrics to guide decision-making and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Champion a metrics-driven culture focused on measurable impact and continuous improvement.
- Invest in the growth and success of your team—mentorship, career development, and leadership development.
- Oversee the development of scalable, reliable systems while reducing technical debt and improving performance.
- Build cross-functional partnerships to influence product strategy and technical direction at scale.
- Communicate complex technical ideas and business updates clearly to stakeholders and executives.
- Stay aware of industry trends and best practices; bring ideas to elevate team performance and results.

Experience and Skills
- 2+ years of engineering leadership experience with mentoring and growing talent.
- 7+ years of software development experience, particularly with .NET/C# or similar technologies.
- 3+ years of experience designing cloud-native systems (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Deep understanding of Agile and Scrum in fast-evolving environments.
- Track record of delivering complex, scalable solutions with a focus on customer experience.
- Positive, flexible mindset and readiness to take on new challenges.
- Strong results orientation backed by data and outcomes.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and problem-solving abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Experience leading distributed or remote teams.
- Passion for sports and/or the sports betting industry.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Data, and Design teams.
- Start-up or high-growth environment experience with rapid learning and iteration.

Salary Range: €105,000 - €158,000 EUR. Ranges vary by country and state of residence and are defined by Fanatics Betting and Gaming geographical zones. The offer may include base salary, bonus, and additional employment benefits.
