Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG) is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager – Platform Engineering to build and lead a new EMEA-based Platform Engineering team located in the UK or Ireland. This role will manage a local team of platform engineers and partner closely with our US-based Platform Engineering organization to expand platform coverage, reliability, and developer support across EMEA/US time zones. The role reports to a Senior Engineering Manager of Platform Engineering.
What You’ll Do
- Build and lead a UK/Ireland-based Platform Engineering team supporting EMEA and US on-call.
- Partner closely with the US-based Platform Engineering team on shared roadmaps, delivery, and technical standards.
- Expand EMEA platform coverage, improving responsiveness and operational support across time zones.
- Drive a product mindset for internal platforms, treating developers as customers and measuring success through adoption and reliability.
- Collaborate with application engineering teams across regions to understand needs and unblock delivery.
- Communicate effectively across distributed teams, providing clear updates, surfacing risks, and driving alignment.
- Ensure platform reliability through observability, automation, incident response, and operational best practices.
- Hire, mentor, and develop engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Stay current on emerging technologies and industry trends in cloud, platform engineering, and security through continuous learning—evaluating and adopting new tools and practices collaboratively with the team.
What You Bring
- More than 10 years of experience in software, infrastructure, or platform engineering.
- More than 5 years of experience managing and scaling high-performance engineering teams with demonstrated people-centered leadership approach.
- Strong technical background or familiarity in:
- Cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).
- Kubernetes and containerized platforms.
- CI/CD and GitOps-based workflows.
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi).
- Incident management.
Nice to Have
- Experience leading developer experience or internal platform product initiatives.
- Background in regulated, high-availability environments.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and their application to developer productivity.
- Experience in high-growth or fast-paced engineering organizations.

Compensation & Benefits
The expected salary range for this role is based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience and will vary based on location. This position is eligible for the Fanatics Betting & Gaming annual bonus program and equity award, where applicable. In addition to base compensation, full-time employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, which may include medical, dental, vision coverage, retirement savings plans, paid time off, family care benefits, wellness programs, and other perks. Benefits offerings may vary by country and location.
