Role Summary

Fanatics Collect is seeking a hands‑on Accounting & Finance Analyst to own day‑to‑day accounting operations for our France entity and ensure strong local statutory execution. This role is critical to maintaining audit readiness, supporting monthly close, and strengthening financial discipline as the business scales across Europe. You will partner closely with local Operations and Seller teams while coordinating monthly close and compliance deliverables with our external accounting provider. This is a high‑impact role designed to transition from a contractor‑based model to a stable, in‑house finance capability that ensures rigor, speed, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Month‑end close execution: collect invoices/support, prepare accruals and reversals, perform cut‑off checks, run calculations, and reconcile key balance sheet accounts.
  • Vendor & payments operations: verify invoices vs. trackers/business owners; prepare payment proposals and support payment execution with appropriate controls.
  • Banking & cash: download statements, reconcile bank/Stripe balances, investigate variances, and provide balance evidence to the accounting provider.
  • Tax compliance support: prepare inputs and review monthly VAT deliverables with third party tax consultants; maintain supporting documentation.
  • Intercompany & recharges: gather supporting data, validate recharge calculations, and support timely posting/settlement.
  • Close governance: maintain closing checklist/calendar, track open items, and ensure timely submission from third party bookkeeping firms through to monthly group reporting.
  • Audit readiness: maintain clear documentation, provide support for auditor requests, and ensure evidence retention (contracts, invoices, trackers, approvals).

Seller / Operations Support (FinOps)

  • Support seller‑facing finance operations: validate commissions/incentives, confirm trackers with teams, and resolve operational finance questions.
  • Partner with Seller teams on issue triage, documentation collection, and invoice/contract follow‑up.
  • Identify repetitive manual tasks suitable for automation; partner with France Finance leadership to implement improvements.

Cross‑Functional Leadership & Reporting

  • Report directly to Accounting and Finance Leadership for Fanatics Collectibles.
  • Support Commercial leadership on analyzing results and supporting special projects.
  • Coordinate with External accounting provider — monthly booking, VAT, and reporting deliverables.
  • Work day‑to‑day with Sellers & local Ops teams on issue resolution and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years experience in accounting / statutory environment, preferably inclusive of experience within a big four accounting firm.
  • Strong working knowledge of French and UK GAAP, IFRS, and US GAAP and month‑end close best practices.
  • Speaks French and English required.
  • Comfort with high‑volume operational work, reconciliations, and documentation rigor.
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with outsourced bookkeeping / shared portals preferred.

Success Metrics

  • Close calendar hit consistently with reduced rework from third‑party accounting provider questions.
  • Key reconciliations and calculations completed monthly with improved speed and accuracy.
  • VAT support package complete and timely each month.
  • Demonstrated improvements via automation/templates/standardization.

The above list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the post. Subject to applicable laws, Fanatics Collectibles may choose to run a background check. Equal Opportunity Employer. No discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or other protected class status. The company is protected against retaliation for claims of illegal conduct.
