We are seeking a Commercial Finance Analyst – Sales to provide financial decision support and help unify the regional commercial approach across EMEA. Based in London, this role will focus on analyzing and structuring sales data, developing financial tools, and driving insights that enhance commercial execution across multiple markets. This is a full time role, in the designated office 5 days per week.
Job Description
We are seeking a Commercial Finance Analyst – Sales to provide financial decision support and help unify the regional commercial approach across EMEA. Based in London, this role will focus on analyzing and structuring sales data, developing financial tools, and driving insights that enhance commercial execution across multiple markets. This is a full time role, in the designated office 5 days per week.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to develop and automate dashboards, assess EPOS, customer distribution, and returns data, and provide key financial insights to drive sales effectiveness. This role will work cross-functionally across Europe and the Middle East, ensuring consistent financial reporting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making across all regions.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Finance & Commercial Execution Support
- Support the sales team by providing financial insights that drive execution and commercial success.
- Help unify the regional sales finance approach, ensuring consistency in reporting, analysis, and strategic execution across multiple countries.
- Deliver clear, actionable insights by analyzing customer distribution points, EPOS data, returns, and consumer trends.
- Develop tools and reporting frameworks to track and optimize sell-in, sell-through, pricing, and promotional effectiveness.
- Work closely with the Senior VP of Sales to translate financial insights into actionable sales strategies.
- Create real-time KPI tracking dashboards, allowing commercial teams to monitor execution effectiveness and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Manage weekly sales reporting, ensuring timely and accurate updates on market performance.
- Handle ad hoc financial requests, providing insights to support decision-making.
Financial Decision Support & Strategic Projects
- Provide financial insights to assist in sales forecasting, budgeting, and commercial planning.
- Review and analyze trade investment fees, discount structures, and promotional spend to ensure commercial efficiency.
- Assess the financial impact of pricing strategies, distributor margins, and customer rebate programs.
- Develop business cases for new market entries, pricing structures, and investment decisions across multiple EMEA countries.
- Assess and track return on investment (ROI) for promotional spend, pricing strategies, and distributor partnerships.
- Lead financial scenario modeling, helping the sales team evaluate strategic options.
- Ensure alignment of financial reporting and forecasting processes with the overall business strategy across EMEA.
Data Discovery, Structuring & Dashboard Innovation
- Build and structure data sets from scratch, ensuring sales and financial information is integrated effectively.
- Identify, source, and unify large sales and customer data sets, ensuring consistency and accuracy across multiple EMEA markets.
- Connect different data systems and sources, improving automation and ensuring seamless data flow between finance, sales, and operational teams.
- Create new analytical tools to improve visibility into regional sales performance, profitability, and operational efficiencies.
- Develop and automate dashboards in TM1, Power BI, Tableau, or other BI tools to track:
- Customer distribution and penetration
- EPOS (electronic point-of-sale) performance
- Returns analysis and product lifecycle insights
- Consumer demand trends and market dynamics
- Trade spend, discounting impact, and promotional effectiveness
Forecasting, Budgeting & Performance Analysis
- Lead the development of advanced forecasting models, integrating sales data, customer insights, and market trends to improve accuracy.
- Drive budgeting and reforecasting processes, ensuring financial plans align with business goals.
- Support monthly and quarterly sales performance reviews, providing financial insights and variance analysis.
- Ensure alignment on financial targets and execution priorities across all EMEA regions.
Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of experience in commercial finance, sales finance, or financial planning & analysis (FP&A).
- Proficiency in structuring, analyzing, and building large data sets from scratch to drive strategic insights.
- Experience connecting different data systems to improve reporting accuracy and automation.
- Advanced skills in TM1, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Excel, and other data visualization or BI tools.
- Hands-on experience with EPOS, customer distribution data, and returns analysis, using data-driven insights to influence sales strategy.
- Ability to develop new financial tools and dashboards, supporting sales teams with real-time execution insights.
- Strong understanding of pricing, promotional analysis, and trade investment fees/discounting impact.
- Comfortable handling weekly sales reporting and ad hoc financial requests to support the sales team.
- Experience working across multiple international markets, particularly in EMEA
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with commercial, finance, and operational teams.
- Fluent in English (additional European languages are a plus).
