FSW provides a community group play provision for children in the Baglan area of Port Talbot. The sessions are after school in the week and through the day on Saturdays. The sesions are with small groups of children who complete sessions either in our Baglan base or in the community.
The children we support have complex needs and disabilities, some can display difficult behaviours and some can have meltdowns.
Play worker involving community activities Including Go Air, Buzz, Cinema, Swimming, Walks, Macdonalds etc
Emphasis is on having fun while the parent is away from the home.
Working with the child's family and professionals to allow the parents respite Reliability is essential to support continuity and consistency for child and family.
Some personal care may be involved Candidate must be willing to undergo relevant DBS check and on-going training. Experience of working with children desirable but notessential.
The candidate will be supported to establish a positive working relationship with both family and child/ren to build continuity and familiarity for the family.
FSW offers the following:
- Rate of £13.65 per hour for drivers
- Rate of £12.71 per hour for non drivers - applicants must be able to travel to Baglan Library.
