Founded 50 years ago, our work combines commitment to human rights and social justice with expertise in child welfare law, policy and practice.

- We promote families\β voices, expertise and insights in all our work. We support mothers, fathers, kinship carers and care-experienced young people to be heard by policy-makers, practitioners and the public.
- We create and champion innovative family-led solutions, including family group conferences and Lifelong Links. We partner with local authorities, other agencies and academics to embed these practices.
- We provide free, independent and confidential advice to help parents and kinship carers understand the law, child welfare processes, their rights and options.
- We lead campaigns to achieve changes in law, policy and practice, informed by research and the perspectives of those with lived experience.
Role Description
As Family Rights Group\βs
principal fundraiser
, you will build and strengthen all aspects of the charity\βs fundraising work. Working closely with the senior leadership team and other key roles, the post will involve implementing a plan to secure increases in funding primarily from trusts and foundations and via individual giving.
This role will deliver a step-change in the rate at which we increase and expand our funding pipeline, with a focus on the key areas of trusts and foundations, individual giving, and corporate partnerships.
This is a full-time role (with flexible options welcome), with a start date as soon as possible.

Qualifications
- At least 5 years\β experience managing relationships with trusts and foundations and major donors
- A demonstrable track record of securing five and six-figure gifts from trusts, foundations and individuals through exceptional communications, relationship-building and bid-writing skills
- Experience of manage bid-writing processes skilfully, prioritising key opportunities, working closely with colleagues, and producing well-researched and well-written bids that reflect the values and methodologies of the organisation
- Direct experience of leading and managing relationships with major donors and corporate partners
- A good understanding of some of the ways in which the charity\βs public profile can be increased effectively to generate more support from potential funders
- Demonstrable experience of developing compelling cases for support and fundraising proposals to maximise stakeholder engagement and income
- A keen eye for detail and strong copywriting and editing skills for effective bid-writing
