Family Rights Group’s vision is a society in which families can thrive and all children have loving relationships to turn to throughout life.

Our mission is to ensure that the child welfare and family justice system support children to live safely and thrive within their family, while strengthening the family and community ties of those children who cannot live at home.

Founded in 1974, our work combines commitment to human rights and social justice with expertise in child welfare law, policy and practice.

Family Rights Group has been at the forefront of introducing family group conferences (FGCs) in the UK since the 1990s and in their promotion.

Our ambition is that FGCs become a common approach across the child welfare system to embed partnership working between families and the state to address needs and resolve safeguarding concerns in relation to a child.

In 2016 Family Rights Group collaborated with a number of local authorities and other stakeholders, including young people in care, their families, foster carers and social workers to develop Lifelong Links.

The aim of Lifelong Links is to ensure that children in care have a positive support network to help them practically and emotionally during their time in care and later as young adults.

We are seeking a new practice adviser to deliver training, consultancy and support for Family Group Conference and Lifelong Links services.

A skilled and motivated professional with a background in FGCs, Lifelong Links and working directly with young people and their families.

You will be able to apply your expertise to the context of training and consultancy as part of an exciting and growing programme.

We welcome flexible requests including home or hybrid-working.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss the role please contact Nicola Lines, Senior FGC and Lifelong Links Practice Adviser nlines@frg. org. uk.

The closing date for applications is Monday 14th September at 9am.
