Family First Solicitors Limited is an innovative family law firm committed to providing affordable legal advice to clients wherever they are. We specialise in offering family law services through accessible means, including fixed fees, unbundled services, and a flexible approach, ensuring support is within financial reach for as many people as possible. Recognised by our peers as good people, we are proud to deliver sharp, client-focused advice in a relaxed and supportive environment. Our mission is to bridge the gap in legal assistance created by economic headwinds of the last ten years, enabling more individuals to address their family law needs.
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Senior Family Solicitor or CILEX Litigator. Strong expertise in Family Law, including experience handling complex cases such as divorce, child arrangements, and financial settlements is required. Knowledge and experience in advocacy is beneficial. Ability to work autonomously, as well as collaboratively within a hybrid work setting is essential. Qualified solicitor or a member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX) qualified to litigate or nearly there is necessary. An ADR qualification would be advantageous but not required.
We specialise in family law and particularly in difficult or interesting cases. We regularly advise on Children Act cases that involve complex issues, such as alienation or coercive control. Our financial work ranges from modest value assets to families with up to many millions of pounds in assets. We are committed to offering affordable law and are transitioning to unbundled services and fixed fees only, being market leaders in this method of helping clients to afford legal advice. Full training will be provided if this is new to you.
We provide training to improve your skills and ensure you have access to the latest practitioner assistance such as Lexis Nexis PSL, MBL learning, and case management with AI assistance built in. We offer a healthy respect for your work/life balance, a competitive salary, and a benefits package based on loyalty and performance. Flexibility in your hours can be discussed, but this is a full-time role.
You will be intellectually curious and previously pushed yourself to learn things to help a client. Having an awareness/interest about domestic abuse is advantageous. We are also keen to hear from you if you do some of your own advocacy or have done in the past. The firm is mindful that developing talent from inside the organisation is the way to ensure all those at Family First stay engaged and in love with their work.
With 20% of family lawyers considering leaving the field, we strongly believe that motivation is not just about money, but an ability to be the best you can be, with a firm that doesn’t sweep stress and wellbeing issues under the carpet. If you are thinking of developing an ADR practice, a career in the judiciary, or obtaining higher rights, then we should talk.
Competitive salary £40,000 - £50,000 plus bonus potential up to a 50% share of super profit. If you would like a preliminary chat please email Ursula@familyfirstsolicitors.
