Nestled within an acre of beautiful countryside, Woodhams Farm Day Nursery is a unique, purpose-built barn-style setting surrounded by tranquil rural scenery. Located in Kingsworthy, just outside Winchester, our nursery offers a peaceful environment where children can grow, explore, and develop a true appreciation for the outdoors.

Our outdoor provision is a standout feature, with multiple garden areas, a large hard-surfaced playground, and a supersized sandpit. Our babies also benefit from their own specially designed balcony – a calm, secure space to enjoy fresh air safely and outdoor exploration. Many of our staff have been with us for over 10 years, creating a warm, supportive, and family-like environment for both children and colleagues. We pride ourselves on our nurturing culture, where everyone is valued and works together to provide the highest standard of care. Despite our rural location, we are easily accessible, with a convenient bus stop right outside the nursery.

We are currently seeking a Nursery Room Leader to join our team in our Preschool Room. This role requires working 40 hours per week, with shifts between 8am and 6pm. The ideal candidate will hold a full and relevant Level 3 qualification. Please note, this is a year-round position, as the nursery operates throughout the year and is not term-time only.

As Room Leader, you will:

  • Provide stimulating and purposeful experiences, environments and resources to children, that are appropriate to their age and stage of development
  • Enhance the all-around daily needs of children, including their physical, intellectual, social and emotional development
  • Assist staff in updating the EyLog system and their child learning journals with the highest quality
  • Assist with embedding an effective key person approach to enable children to form secure attachments and identify training or development needs for staff
  • Maintain accurate records and accounts relating to children and staff on EyMan system and on file
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent and visitor at all times

As Room Leader, you will need:

  • Full and relevant Level 3 in Childcare qualification - Essential
  • Over 1 year’s experience working in Early Years - Essential
  • Sound knowledge of Ofsted expectations to achieve a Good or Outstanding rating - Desirable
  • Knowledge of the statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - Essential
  • Fluent in written and spoken English - Essential
