Join Kloisters Kindergarten, Rochester! We're a warm and welcoming nursery with excellent commuter links, providing a stimulating environment where children learn and thrive every day. We're looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Deputy Manager to support the day-to-day running of the nursery, lead and inspire the team, and help ensure the highest standards of care, learning, and compliance. You'll work closely with the Nursery Manager to create a positive environment for children, families, and staff.

This is a full-time role, 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent, and visitor at all times.
  • Understand and ensure that the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS are met throughout the nursery.
  • Assist in managing the acceptance and administration of medication and ensure care plans are thorough and up to date for children or staff with health conditions.
  • Ensure that all children receive stimulating and purposeful experiences, environments and resources that are appropriate to their age and stage of development.
  • Promote respect and credibility for this position through effective communication skills, impartiality, and consistency.
  • Inspire staff team with creative ideas and new challenges with aim to achieve outstanding practice.
  • Undertake any other duties to ensure the smooth running of the nursery and safety and wellbeing of children, staff, and families.

Requirements:

  • Full and relevant Level 3 in Childcare qualification - Essential
  • Over 1 years' experience of working in Early Years - Essential
  • Sound knowledge of the statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - Essential
  • Over 1 years' experience of working in a management position - Desirable.
  • Level 5 qualification in Childcare and/or Management and Leadership - Desirable
  • Experience of successfully passing an Ofsted inspection to good or outstanding – Desirable.
