Cherryvale Nursery is a warm and welcoming nursery located in the heart of Ash Vale. Due to an exciting period of expansion, Cherryvale Nursery—our flagship setting within the Cherrygroup—is looking for new team members to join our friendly, long-established team. Our nursery features six large, spacious, age-specific rooms, each thoughtfully designed to support children at every stage of their development and create a warm, engaging environment for both staff and children.
We also take pride in our newly refurbished garden, carefully developed to encourage outdoor exploration and learning in all weathers. Conveniently located just a five-minute walk from Ash Vale train station, Cherryvale Nursery is easily accessible for commuters, with onsite parking available and bus stops right outside, making your journey to and from work as smooth as possible.
We are currently seeking a Nursery Lunch Cover to join our team. This part-time role requires working 20 hours per week, with shifts from 11am-3pm. The ideal candidate will hold a full and relevant Level 3 qualification. Please note, this is a year-round position, as the nursery operates throughout the year and is not term-time only.

Your Role
- Provide stimulating and purposeful experiences, environments and resources to children, that are appropriate to their age and stage of development
- Enhance the all-around daily needs of children, including their physical, intellectual, social and emotional development
- Assist staff in updating the EyLog system and their child learning journals with the highest quality
- Promote respect and credibility for this position by leading as a role model with impartiality and consistency
- Assist with embedding an effective key person approach to enable children to form secure attachments and identify training or development needs for staff
- Maintain accurate records and accounts relating to children and staff on EyMan system and on file
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent and visitor at all times
- Understand and ensure that the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS are met
What We’re Looking For
- A Level 3 childcare qualification (essential).
- Fluent in written and spoken English (essential).
- At least one year of experience working in Early Years.
- Knowledge of the EYFS framework and regulatory requirements.
- Right to work in the UK - Valid Passport or Settled or Pre-Settled under the EU settlement Scheme.
