How to prepare for a job interview at Family First Nursery Group

Know Your EYFS Inside Out

Make sure you brush up on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Understand its principles and how they apply to your role as an Early Years Assistant. Being able to discuss specific examples of how you've implemented these requirements in past roles will show your expertise.

Showcase Your Experience

Prepare to talk about your previous experience working with children. Think of specific instances where you provided stimulating activities or maintained hygiene standards. Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure your answers and make them impactful.

Demonstrate Your Passion

Let your enthusiasm for working with children shine through. Share why you love being in this field and how you contribute to creating a nurturing environment. This can set you apart from other candidates who may not convey the same level of passion.

Ask Thoughtful Questions

Prepare some insightful questions to ask at the end of your interview. Inquire about the nursery's approach to child development or how they support their staff. This shows that you're genuinely interested in the role and the organisation, and it helps you assess if it's the right fit for you.
