Location: Rodenhurst Ln, Rodington, Shrewsbury SY4 4QU, UK
Job type: Permanent / Full Time
Sector & subsector: Education / Teachers
Family Care is a small family-owned organisation providing specialist SEN education, fostering and residential care across the North West and West Midlands. We are committed to supporting vulnerable children and young people through nurturing, therapeutic services that have a lasting impact on their lives.
Rodenhurst School delivers individualised SEN education within a therapeutic setting, specialising in SEMH needs. Recently rated ‘Good’ in all areas by OFSTED, we are proud of our warm, family-focused ethos and the strong relationships we build with our pupils.
Rodenhurst is situated in the beautiful Shropshire countryside which allows us to provide a pleasant working environment for pupils and staff. Our rural location means that we are able to offer pupils plenty of outdoor space including an onsite forest school, outdoor classroom and MUGGA. The school is easily commutable from both Shrewsbury and Telford.
We support up to 15 pupils, all with EHC plans. Pupils are taught in classes of no more than 6 with at least 1 full time LSA to support. We are looking for a teacher who has experience of teaching a primary-model curriculum in a mainstream or special school setting. The current vacancy would require the teacher to deliver learning to mainly KS3 students using a primary model.
At Family Care we value all of the progress that our pupils make: academic, social and emotional. All teachers at Family Care measure their success by pupils’ progress in all of these areas of learning.
If you are an innovative teacher who is skilled at engaging disengaged learners and can deliver learning to pupils with a diverse range of needs (ASC, trauma, social and emotional difficulties) we would be delighted to hear from you.
