About the role:

As a Residential Childcare Worker you’ll play a vital role in delivering daily care, emotional support, and meaningful interactions that help each young person grow and thrive in a safe, nurturing environment. Working within the home’s Therapeutic Model, you’ll collaborate closely with our in‑house therapeutic practitioners to ensure every young person receives the consistent, personalised support they need to make lasting, positive changes in their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children and young people with a range of learning disabilities in their everyday routines
  • Promote independence and encourage participation in household and community activities
  • Help manage personal care needs where required, with dignity and respect
  • Build trusting relationships and provide emotional support
  • Follow individual care plans and contribute to their development
  • Work effectively as part of a consistent and professional care team, including undertaking sleep‑in, shift/rota work (including weekends)
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children, young people or adults with learning disabilities
  • NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent (or willingness to work towards)
  • Empathetic, patient, and positive attitude
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A calm and proactive approach to challenges
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
