Responsibilities in your new role as an Apprentice Management Trainee:
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on training across all aspects of managing major painting and decorating contracts. You’ll be involved in customer liaison, surveying, estimating, cost control, and overseeing projects from initial enquiry through to completion and final account agreement. You’ll be supported by an experienced mentor, helping you develop into the role of Trainee Contracts Manager while gaining practical, on-the-job experience within a busy contracting environment. As your skills grow, you’ll have the opportunity to manage your own projects and build your own client base. For the right candidate, this role offers strong long-term progression and development opportunities within the business.
Your personality, experience and qualifications:
We’re looking for candidates with a minimum of five GCSEs at grades A* to C (or equivalent), including English and Maths, along with a full UK driving licence. You’ll demonstrate a genuine interest in developing a career in project or contract management, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality customer service. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as well as solid numerical ability and confidence using Microsoft Office. You’ll be proactive, able to use your initiative, and comfortable working independently. While not essential, some prior work experience, training, or further education, such as AS/A2 levels or a construction-related qualification, would be advantageous.
