Are you an experienced Estimator or Contracts Manager looking to take ownership of projects from tender through to completion? We’re working with a well-established leading contractor seeking a motivated individual to oversee the pricing, securing, and delivery of painting and decorating contracts. This is a fantastic opportunity, based in Cardiff, to be involved at every stage of the project lifecycle, from initial enquiry through to successful completion, within a business that values long-term development, strong team culture, and internal progression.

Responsibilities in your new role as a Contracts Manager:

As the Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for surveying properties and structures to assess painting requirements, accurately estimating costs, labour, materials, and project timelines. You’ll prepare professional and competitive tender packages, while also producing risk assessments and method statements to ensure full compliance with health and safety standards. From project award through to completion, you will manage contracts end-to-end, ensuring productivity targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met, while overseeing and supporting site-based operatives.

Your personality, experience and qualifications:

We’re looking for a Contracts Manager with proven experience pricing individual painting projects and successfully winning work through competitive tendering. You’ll have strong financial and commercial awareness, alongside the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and solve problems with confidence and initiative. Experience overseeing site-based operatives and delivering painting contracts from start to finish is essential, as are strong IT skills and a full driving license. Backgrounds we are interested in include Painting Estimator, Surveyor, Surveying, Estimating, Contracts Manager, Foreman, or Property Maintenance, with experience in estimating and surveying. RICS or CIOB membership would be beneficial.
