Principal Tasks: Deploy, integrate, and support our reporting suite by creating bespoke MI reporting solutions based on our customers’ needs or enhance existing reports and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Write SQL scripts and stored procedures to interface with the MSS system and, where appropriate, with subsidiary systems, to meet documented program specifications using Oracle SQL, Microsoft SQL, and Power BI as appropriate.
- Creation and/or validation of pipelines to support service level artifact promotion such as Power BI Dashboards.
- Assist with preparations prior to, and during, any Technical Design Authority approvals.
- Liaise with users to ensure a full understanding of the operation of their reports and of how in‑house developed programs operate to assist users in their understanding of them.
- Support the ongoing maintenance of low‑level design documents for Data Platforms.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Ability to accurately estimate deliverables.
- Ability to communicate with business stakeholders and interpret requirements into technical specifications.
- Ability to work through the whole SDLC (Software development lifecycle) including an understanding of pipeline deployments.
- In‑depth understanding of schema creation for databases, managing permissions.
- Able to create data transformations and data pipelines.
- Experience in data ingestion (structured and unstructured data) from various sources such as Blob storage, Excel and others to SQL.
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server processes and working with complex datasets, ability to integrate SQL with Excel and create SQL data repositories that could integrate with a Data Warehouse.
- Experience working within a client‑facing delivery focused role.
- High degree of hands‑on technical guidance and/or vision with broad subject‑matter expertise in data.
- Self‑motivated and organised person with excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills: role will require engagement with a varied and senior stakeholder base.
- Documentation skills to provide high quality documentation for internal customers and technical teams.
- Openness to learning and managing new technologies as business requirements change.
- Ability to mentor and support junior and/or inexperienced staff within the team to ensure their development needs are met.
- Experience working in Financial Services.
- Worked in an Agile environment and have a good understanding of unit testing.
- Understanding of Power Automate and Microsoft Fabric.
