About the Role
As a Bank Early Years Practitioner you will provide essential cover and support across our nursery setting when required. You will help maintain continuity of care, delivering warm, engaging and developmentally appropriate experiences for children aged 0–5. You will work with different teams, bringing energy, creativity and professionalism to each setting you support.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the learning and development of children aged 0–5 through meaningful play and planned activities
- Ensuring each child feels safe, valued and stimulated according to their individual needs and interests
- Following safeguarding and health & safety procedures, promoting a strong culture of care
- Building positive relationships with children, colleagues and parents across multiple locations
- Contributing to observations, records and planning to support children’s progress
- Engaging in reflective practice and taking part in ongoing training and development
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking practitioners who bring enthusiasm, empathy and flexibility to their role. You’ll need:
- At least 1 year’s experience in a nursery or early years setting (or equivalent)
- A genuine passion for supporting young children’s learning and development
- Sound knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding requirements
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A reflective, adaptable and can‑do attitude
- willingness and ability to travel between local nursery locations in Birmingham
- A current Enhanced DBS, or willingness to undergo a check
Working Pattern
Bank / zero‑hours contract. Shifts available Monday to Friday.
