Since 1869, we have been building stronger families, and today, we work with over 60,000 families across more than 190 services. We also support thousands more through national programmes and grants, ensuring everyone has the tools to overcome challenges and thrive. We are now looking for an Assistant Director Services and Innovation to join us on a part-time basis for a permanent contract working 22.2 hours per week. The Role As an Assistant Director Services and Innovation, you will provide high-level leadership across our services in Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas. Specifically, you will focus on our children’s, youth, and family services, ensuring their safe, high-quality delivery and financial sustainability. Working at a strategic level, you will oversee service performance and safeguarding, and drive innovation across Family Hubs and related services. You will also ensure services meet regulatory and quality assurance requirements while managing budgets and resources effectively. You will act as a system leader and convenor, building strong relationships across local authorities, health, and voluntary and community sectors, contributing to the transformation of Family Hubs, and helping to grow our network across the region. Additionally, you will: – Manage recruitment, development, and performance of staff – Monitor financial performance, mitigate risks and support service development – Represent Family Action externally – Ensure safeguarding is central to all service delivery – Embed a culture of continuous improvement across all services About You To be considered as an Assistant Director Services and Innovation, you will need: – Proven experience leading services for children, young people, and families with complex needs – A strong track record in stakeholder engagement and cross-sector partnership working – The ability to manage teams, budgets, and service performance to a high standard – Knowledge of safeguarding, regulatory frameworks, and quality assurance processes – Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with an understanding of structural disadvantage Appointments are subject to Family Action receiving a satisfactory Enhance DBS disclosure.
