Families First Guildford is looking for a Team Leader to join our team as soon as possible. The post is full time for 52 weeks a year, 36 hours a week and permanent. We will consider applicants wishing to work a minimum of 30 hours across 4 days a week.
Families First Guildford is the coordination of Early Help services within the borough of Guildford. Guildford Nursery School leads Families First Guildford. Guildford Family Centre sits within Families First Guildford and provides 1:1 targeted support for families. It also provides and coordinates some support for families with emerging needs. The family centre team work across the borough of Guildford, helping families with children up to age 18 (or 25 for those young people with additional needs). Our main site is at Guildford Nursery School, Hazel Avenue.
As a Team Leader you will lead and manage the day to day delivery of emerging needs support in the borough, supervising a team of Assistant Family Support Workers. If required you will hold a case load of families. This post would ideally suit an experienced Family Support Worker, or teacher who has delivered high quality emerging needs support.
We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced person who is:
- Level 5 qualified in education, health and/or social care or has equivalent experience of managing a service in a related field
- Qualified in leadership and management or willing to undertake a qualification
- Has a good understanding of emerging needs support
- Positive, flexible, responsible and with a passion for working with families
- Keen to make a real impact within and beyond their own team
- A team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- Highly motivated and able to prioritise and manage a busy workload
- Able to work in partnership with parents and carers to reduce inequalities in children’s outcomes
