Help little learners grow, one moment at a time! Join Families and Communities Rising, Inc. (FCR) as a Teacher Aide and support a classroom where children feel safe, encouraged, and ready to learn.

What You Will Do

  • Support teachers in carrying out engaging, developmentally appropriate activities for individual children and groups.

  • Work one-on-one with children to encourage their growth and development under the direction of the teacher or assistant teacher.

  • Help prepare classroom learning centers and outdoor spaces for safe, enjoyable activities.

  • Assist with meals, classroom routines, sanitation practices, and transitions throughout the day.

  • Use positive, respectful guidance to support children’s behavior in accordance with FCR policies.

  • Maintain active supervision in classrooms, bathrooms, playgrounds, and during field trips.

  • Provide classroom coverage for staff breaks and educational duties, maintaining required supervision and the stated ratio of no more than nine children per adult.

  • Maintain accurate records, protect confidentiality, and fulfill mandated reporting responsibilities.

  • Participate in meetings, training, recruitment/enrollment events, and ongoing program improvement.

  • Work collaboratively, maintain dependable attendance, and adapt to changing program needs.

  • Follow applicable FCR, Head Start/Early Head Start, NC Pre-K, and child care policies and requirements.


What You Bring

  • At least 18 years of age.

  • A high school diploma or GED.

  • Experience working with children under age 5.

  • A caring, respectful approach to children, families, and coworkers.

  • A willingness to learn, receive feedback, and contribute to a positive classroom team.
