Build relationships. Connect families with resources. Help children thrive. Join Families & Communities Rising, Inc. (FCR) and support families as they work toward their goals and prepare their children for success in Head Start and Early Head Start.

What You Will Do

  • Partner with families. Provide case management for approximately 35 families, helping them identify strengths, assess needs, and work toward goals that support family well-being, self-sufficiency, and children’s school readiness.

  • Support recruitment and enrollment. Help families complete enrollment paperwork, understand program expectations, and access services. Work with the team to fill vacancies as quickly as possible within 30 days.

  • Connect families with resources. Coordinate referrals and community partnerships for housing, food, health care, mental health, education, employment, and other needs. Support families experiencing crises.

  • Build connections between home and school. Offer home visits and alternative meeting locations, visit classrooms at least weekly, and collaborate with teachers to strengthen parent-teacher communication.

  • Promote consistent attendance. Monitor attendance daily in ChildPlus, promptly follow up on unexpected absences, and work with families and staff to address barriers and reduce chronic absenteeism.

  • Encourage parent engagement. Coordinate parent meetings and workshops, share program information, assist with parent surveys, and help parents strengthen their role as their children’s first and most important teachers.

  • Support children’s progress and transitions. Assist with developmental assessments, health and dental initiatives, and transitions into and out of Head Start and Early Head Start.

  • Maintain accurate records. Keep confidential family files and ChildPlus information current. Complete required reports and documentation for parent meetings, volunteer hours, donations, and program outcomes.

  • Contribute to program improvement. Support community needs assessments, annual self-assessments, recruitment events, and community activities.

  • For bilingual positions: Provide interpretation and translation for enrolled families during program services and activities.


What You Bring

  • A bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related human services field is preferred.

  • At least one year of case management experience with low-income children and families; two years preferred.

  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds.

  • A compassionate, professional approach to sensitive family situations.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and fluency in English. Written and spoken Spanish fluency is required for designated bilingual positions.

  • The ability to maintain accurate documentation, complete data entry, and collaborate with community agencies.

  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel throughout the service area.

  • The ability to meet required pre-employment screenings and health requirements, including satisfactory references and an NCDCDEE Qualification Letter.
