A growing real estate lender in North London is seeking an Asset Manager to oversee development & refurbishment projects across a diverse loan book. Working closely with the wider credit, underwriting and servicing teams, the Asset Manager will play a key role in protecting lender exposure, ensuring compliance and driving positive project outcomes. This role offers hybrid working, excellent benefits and a defined career path within a growing business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor live development and refurbishment schemes across the portfolio.
  • Review and assess drawdown requests, cost-to-complete, programmes, variations and surveyor reports.
  • Identify delays, risks and deviations, and propose mitigation strategies to senior management.
  • Assist in the assessment of new development/refurbishment proposals.
  • Review scopes of work, programmes, cost plans, specifications, drawings, insurance and warranties.
  • Highlight potential buildability issues, gaps, or risks impacting viability.
  • Monitor planning conditions, S106/CIL obligations, and building control requirements.
  • Liaise with architects, planning consultants, local authorities and professional teams.
  • Support the management of loans showing early signs of distress or performance issues.
  • Liaise with borrowers, QS teams, valuers, solicitors and contractors to formulate recovery strategies.
  • Assist in enforcement processes, cost reviews, exit planning and protecting GDV and lender exposure.
  • Maintain strong communication with borrowers and professional teams.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, credit committee packs and exit strategy planning.

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience within property development, construction management, refurbishment projects, or monitoring/oversight.
  • Ability to read and understand programmes, cost plans, technical drawings, reports and schedules of works.
  • Strong understanding of planning processes, CIL/S106, building control and construction compliance.
  • Confident risk assessment skills with the ability to escalate issues clearly.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly organised, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
