We are looking for a strong and tenacious Credit Controller to join a busy property management group based in North West London. This is a hands-on role requiring persistence, attention to detail, and the ability to handle difficult tenant situations while ensuring rent collection and arrears management are completed efficiently. Working alongside another credit controller, this is a hybrid role offering parking and generous holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage rent arrears, including liaising with Universal Credit and Housing Benefit to restart claims, backdate payments, and ensure rent is paid directly to the landlord.
- Issue S21 rent increase notices and follow up until increases are actioned.
- Ensure tenants are correctly set up on Universal Credit, including exemptions from rental cap rates.
- Chase unpaid incentives or payments from the council.
- Maintain accurate records using ProPack.
- Handle difficult tenants professionally, maintaining a firm stance while resolving issues effectively.
- Assist with administrative processes.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in credit control, ideally within property management.
- Confident in liaising with Universal Credit, Housing Benefit and other agencies.
- Tenacious, organised and able to manage long processes.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience with ProPack or similar property management systems is desirable.
