Our client is a well-established, FCA-regulated consumer credit company and a market leader in its field.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a professional and empathetic Debt Collector to join their team based in North London.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of overdue customer accounts and outstanding debts.
- Make regular inbound and outbound calls to customers regarding overdue payments.
- Proactively pursue outstanding balances and maximise debt recovery.
- Negotiate affordable and sustainable repayment plans with customers.
- Deal sensitively and professionally with customers experiencing financial difficulties.
- Monitor repayment arrangements and follow up on missed or overdue payments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all customer contact and collection activity.
- Ensure all collection activity complies with FCA regulations, Consumer Duty, company policies and data protection requirements.
- Escalate accounts where appropriate and liaise with internal departments and external parties as required.
Key Requirements
- Previous experience in debt collection, arrears management or credit control, ideally within consumer finance or financial services.
- Confident and professional telephone manner with strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Experience using CRM systems and maintaining accurate records.
- Good understanding of FCA regulations.
