We are representing a specialist property finance company based in North London, specialising in bespoke funding solutions across a diverse property portfolio. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a highly organised and proactive Assistant Accountant to join their expanding team. As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the finance function and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
- Bookkeeping and posting journal entries
- Managing daily payment runs and processing payments
- Monitoring and allocating receivables
- Supporting credit control activities and reporting
- Preparing portfolio statements for funders
- Drafting mortgage and repayment statements for borrowers
- Managing the accounts inbox and resolving queries
- Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
Key Requirements:
- 3 years+ experience in an accounts or finance role, ideally within property finance (bridging, buy-to-let, residential, or commercial lending)
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
- Experience with accounts payable and receivable
- Familiarity with accounting software such as Xero or QuickBooks
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisation
- Confident communication skills with a client-focused approach
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint)
- Recognised accounting or bookkeeping qualification (e.g. AAT) is essential.
