We are supporting a well-established charity with strong UK and international operations, including subsidiaries in Israel, in the search for an Accountant. This is a pivotal leadership role within the Finance function, reporting directly to the Finance Director. The role is hybrid, offering one day working from home and offers generous holidays alongside other benefits. Flexible hours considered. Off street parking available.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts for the Charity Group, including consolidation across UK and Israeli subsidiaries using Xero.
- Oversee Group budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across all entities.
- Prepare and review statutory accounts and manage the full year-end audit process.
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Produce accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly management accounts and board-level analysis.
- Manage cash flow forecasting, treasury processes, and foreign exchange requirements.
- Act as key contact for auditors, banks, regulators, and external stakeholders.
- Support system integrity and reporting across Xero, fundraising databases, and internal systems.
- Support compliance with Charity Commission, HMRC, Companies House, and other regulatory bodies.
- Supervising a team of two.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- Experience working within the charity sector is essential.
- Excellent knowledge of SORP, charity accounting regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong IT skills and working knowledge of Xero is essential.
