Financial Controller

A well-established charity with UK and international operations, including subsidiaries in Israel, is seeking to appoint an Financial Controller to join its finance team.

Reporting to the Finance Director, this is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to take ownership of the organisation’s financial controls, reporting and day-to-day finance operations within a purpose-driven organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and oversee monthly management accounts across multiple entities within the Charity Group.
  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day financial control function, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, banking and reconciliations.
  • Oversee month-end processes and ensure all reporting deadlines are consistently met.
  • Prepare, monitor and analyse Group cash flow forecasts, highlighting risks and opportunities to the Finance Director.
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Review financial transactions and controls to ensure appropriate accounting treatment and compliance with internal procedures.
  • Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process, providing financial analysis and insight.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date accounting records are maintained using Xero.
  • Support the preparation of year-end statutory accounts and coordinate with external auditors.

Candidate Requirements

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, part-qualified or finalist candidates will also be considered.
  • Strong financial accounting and management reporting experience.
  • Previous experience working in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar role.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring or managing a small finance team.
  • Essential experience using Xero.
