This role involves developing primary plant layouts for HV substations, specifying HV equipment and ancillary systems for energy storage and renewable generation projects; providing supervision through all project lifecycle stages.

Specific experience in the power transmission and distribution industry, specifically in HV substation solutions (110kV to 400kV). Proficiency in developing technical specifications for AIS/GIS substations and associated primary and secondary equipment. Experience across all project lifecycle stages, from design to commissioning. Deep understanding of regulatory and client-specific health and safety requirements for HV systems. Proven ability to prepare technical reports to a high standard in English.

Experience in designing overhead line systems for transmission networks. Site experience in construction, testing, or commissioning of HV systems. Manage others, perform installation, switching operations, replacement, testing, and troubleshooting of transformers, substations, switches, power circuit breakers, metal-clad switchgear line-ups, manholes, cables, protective relays, metering circuits, control circuits, and other electrical equipment used in the distribution of electric power at the 5kV, 15kV, and 115kV voltage levels.

Installs electrical equipment including but not limited to programmable controllers and recorders, transmitters and transducers, motor control centers, power lift trucks, building lighting, heating, AC and ventilation equipment, electrical motors, complex electronic devices, control panels, relays, conduit and switches.

Operates various components on the medium and high voltage distribution electrical system including isolation switches, interrupters, capacitor banks, transformers, voltage regulators. Installs, modifies, connects and repairs overhead and underground electrical distribution lines, insulators, grounding systems, fuses, poles, air switches and lighting arresters.
