We are looking for an experienced People Partner to join our People Partnering and Relations team. We provide commercially aware solutions to a range of workforce challenges, ensuring that our people are supported, empowered and treated fairly. In this role, you will work across Falmouth University and our partner organisation Falmouth Exeter Plus.
This is a hands‑on role, focussed on providing high quality advice and guidance to managers, recommending valued interventions and insights on people management strategies, initiatives and solutions which deliver organisational benefit and ensure exceptional engagement and an inclusive people experience. This role will include delivery of related aspects of our people plans, including organisational change programmes, working on people initiatives as well as supporting managers with complex and escalated casework through our tiered model approach.
It is essential that you are adept at building and maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders on all levels, including the trade unions and senior managers. This is a busy position, working in a small team within the People & Culture department where the role will provide you with ample opportunity to proactively push your critical thinking and professional practice.
Qualifications
- HR Degree or CIPD level 5 qualification or similar qualification/equivalent work experience.
- Recent and relevant experience in core business partnering.
- Depth & breadth of experience in supporting Employee Relations casework at an escalated or complex level.
- Influence, tenacity and empathy; with the ability to quickly establish credibility and trusted relationships within a large and complex organisation.
- A collaborative and flexible team worker.
- An ability to multi‑task confidently and competently.
This position is offered on a full time, 35 hours per week basis. This is an active people facing role, where a regular Falmouth and Penryn on-campus presence will be required, however, as we operate a hybrid flexible approach to working, there is the opportunity to work from home for some of the time.
The closing date for the position is Sunday 18 January 2025. Interviews will take place week commencing 26 January 2026.
