Lecturer (Module Leader) MA Marketing and Digital Communications Online
We are currently seeking an ambitious and energetic lecturer (module leader) and practitioner to join our team and play a key role in the successful delivery of our course, MA Marketing and Digital Communications (Online).
MA Marketing and Digital Communications (Online) is a successful course designed to develop marketing and digital communications practitioners who can meet the demands of a global and digitally transformed marketplace with innovative flair and creative problem‑solving. The student body is a thriving international one, and alumni return to report on careers in advertising, marketing, branding and research‑led projects into consumer trends.
‘Learning by doing’ is the principle of all the learning and assessment on this programme. Students bring their professional experience, cultural knowledge and real work projects into their studies through workshops and assessments. They might work on a live client brief from a real advertising pitch or discuss the cultural differences of social media in India compared to the UK. Coursework ranges widely from reports, campaigns, concepts, emerging technologies, global trends, consumer behaviour responses to data‑driven marketing ideas.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop academic content for the MA’s modules in collaboration with the Online Team and Digital Learning.
- Conduct assessment and provide feedback to students.
- Deliver learning design and quality assurance.
- Manage tutors, monitor and support them, and deputise for the Course Leader as required.
- Coordinate teaching and support delivered by course staff under the direction of the Course Leader.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will possess a Master’s qualification and have experience teaching at HE level. They should demonstrate ability to inspire students through innovative online pedagogies and bring specialist insight in marketing, problem‑solving, and strategic planning.
Candidates must be highly organised, able to manage time efficiently to meet production and delivery schedules, and experienced in producing asynchronously online learning materials such as pre‑recorded lectures.
They should be confident using virtual learning environments and keep up to date with current trends, theories, and critical debates in contemporary marketing and the digital media landscape.
Evidence of a strong CV as a marketer and/or academic, including research, and a professional network in the marketing communications industry is required.
Key Skills and Experience
- Comprehensive and current knowledge of marketing communications.
- Experience and engagement in curriculum development and quality assurance processes.
- Experience of teaching within an HE environment sufficient to have gained a thorough knowledge and understanding of the requirements on those teaching at this level.
- Strong relationships with industry and ability to develop partnerships, projects and employment opportunities for staff and students.

Details
Position: Permanent, part‑time, 17.5 hours per week.
Location: Remote; successful candidate must be based within the UK.
