Qualifications
- Massachusetts Licensure as an elementary music teacher

- Successful experience as a general music teacher at the elementary level
- Proficient music technology, piano/keyboard, and vocal/singing skills
- Proficient classroom management skills
- Familiarity with rubrics and assessment strategies
- Such other alternatives as the Superintendent of Schools may deem acceptable and appropriate
Responsibilities
- Instruct students in general music
- Implement a variety of teaching techniques to ensure student achievement and engagement incorporating a variety of methods such as Conversational Solfege, Orff, and Kodály
- Develop and implement curriculum objectives based on the learning standards of the Music curriculum and State frameworks
- Cooperate with teachers in other discipline areas to develop a positive and inclusive school-wide culture
- Evaluate classroom activities on a regular basis in respect to district/departmental goals
- Maintain all attendance and grade records
- Accept supervision and guidance from the Fine Arts Department Head and Principal
- Continue to grow in the position through attendance at meetings, conferences, seminars, through readings in professional literature and through enrollment in college or university courses
- Such other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the Principal, Department Head and/or Assistant Superintendent
