Job Goals

As a teacher leader, you will plan and teach effective lessons, collaborate with grade level and curricular teams, and build relationships with colleagues, students, and families. You will implement strategies to support all learners, understanding principles of elementary curriculum, cognitive, social, emotional development, and language support from childhood through early adolescence.

Qualifications

  • DESE MA Elementary 1-6 certification required.
  • SEI endorsement preferred.
  • Bachelor\’s Degree required; Master\’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience teaching at the appropriate level preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop curricular objectives and strategies aligned with state standards, in collaboration with colleagues.
  • Design, implement, and revise curricular units and proficiency scales.
  • Create daily and long-term lesson plans tailored to student needs, standards, and objectives.
  • Promote equity and excellence through instructional practices that meet diverse student needs, including multilingual learners and students with accommodations.
  • Evaluate student progress regularly and maintain accurate records.
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Communicate student progress effectively using available media.
  • Establish and maintain classroom management and behavior standards.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and professional development.
  • Serve on committees and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Salary is in accordance with FEA Unit A contract.
