Our client is an exceptionally well-funded private office who invest, develop, and manage high-end assets across London and Europe. Their sector focus is within the high-end residential and commercial mixed-use London market in addition to industrial and logistics. Due to their current development and recent acquisition pipeline and long term personnel change they are looking for a Development Director to join their London team.

Remuneration: Competitive £100k+ + Benefits + Bonus

Work set up: 5 days in the London office

The Role: The Development Director will join and lead a small London team with ultimate autonomy over the full development lifecycle from initial appraisal through detailed design, planning and procurement to delivery oversight through the critical pathway to completion and hand over to the asset management team. The business has an excellent reputation for investing in prime London value-add developments across the mid to high-end residential and mixed-use office space with projects valued between circa £5 million - £20 million with larger £50+ million future residential, commercial and industrial development coming online both in London and Europe.

The role will oversee a small team of inhouse architects, designers and project managers and report into the business head with strong collaboration lines to the head of real estate / asset management and head of investment. They are looking for a commercially astute Development Director who will have a focus on team leadership and maximising development value whilst having an appreciation and ideally early career experience in Architecture and high design so that they can critique architectural plans and can manage a team in this space.

Requirements:

  • MRICS / ARB qualified with a BSc in Project Management, Real Estate or Architecture.
  • 10+ years’ experience within high-end residential, and office led mixed use sectors with good delivery experience of new build, cut and carve and refurbishment projects valued £10 million+ under JCT contracts.
  • Additional experience in overseas projects and logistics / industrial would be an advantage.
  • Strong technical programme management and JCT (D&B / traditional) contract knowledge.
  • Exceptional leadership and management experience to work within an expanding business unit.
  • Good eye for detail, a passion for delivering a high-end product and a proactive, loyal and friendly persona.
