Falmouth Fairfax are delighted to be instructed by Dorrington to source a Project Surveyor for their residential development and regeneration team. You will be joining the London office of an established investor and developer with a £1+ billion residential and commercial portfolio and will help to deliver strategic residential refurbishment projects to drive net asset value and growth.

The Role: Reporting into the Senior Project and Building Surveyor, the Project Surveyor will work across a large, varied London residential portfolio including many high-end Victorian and Edwardian mansion blocks, co-living, heritage and mixed-use buildings. The role will have a long-term perspective of increasing the portfolio's NAV and income through internal and external refurbishment projects, planned maintenance and compliance work aligned to their annual CAPEX budget. Individual projects can range from simple fabric repairs to more complex refurbishment and repositioning projects under JCT contracts.
In addition to the project focused work, the Building / Project Surveyor will oversee external consultants on professional work and be responsible for defect diagnosis, building pathology, pre-acquisition surveys and inputting into their continuous improvement cycle. The role will require close collaboration with colleagues across their investment and asset management teams to refine specification and scope and optimise procurement and programme strategies to deliver their ambitious residential programme.
The business has been exceptionally successful due to their entrepreneurial investment strategy and the quality and design of their developments. They are looking for a commercially astute Surveyor who has attention to programme detail, can think outside the box to prioritise value and who will become an integrated part of the team who are sociable and have a keen interest in sport and charity events.
Requirements:
- MRICS qualified with a BSc in Building Surveying or property related degree
- 5+ years’ experience in building surveying and project management preferably within the residential space managing projects up to £2 million
- Sound technical ability in defect diagnosis, building regulations, programme management and dealing with contractors, consultants and occupiers.
- Additional experience of Procore would be advantageous
- Commercially astute with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to balance the big picture with attention to detail
