We are working exclusively with an entrepreneurial investment and development business who are looking for a Development Director to join their London office. The company have established family office funding lines and a number of £80+ million residential lead schemes in development with a focused acquisitions pipeline.
Remuneration: £120,000 - £140,000 + Benefits + Bonus
Location: London 5 days office
The Role: The Development Director will join a small London team and will have ultimate autonomy over the full development lifecycle from initial appraisal and acquisition through to sale / lease reporting into the CEO and shareholders. Current sites in planning and development are mid high-end residential lead mixed use schemes between 100 and 500 BTR units. Projects are delivered with an ESG focus using modern methods of construction and set up via construction management contracts using their inhouse contracting business. The Development Director will oversee the acquisition, analyst, commercial and project / construction management teams and act as the conduit to pull all the development elements together.
The ideal Senior Development Manager / Director will be commercially astute to oversee the budgets, cash-flow, funding agreements, drawdowns and change management throughout the developments and be able to lead high level reporting into stakeholders and funding partners on development progress vs development agreement. They are looking for a proactive and flexible individual who has experience of delivering 100+ unit residential BTR schemes from inception to completion via JCT traditional or preferably CM route and who has the personality to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial business.
Requirements:
- MRICS qualified preferable but not essential
- Degree in Real Estate, Project Management, Quantity Surveying or similar
- Experience within residential development, preferably of multi-unit residential PRS / BTR developments, but other asset classes acceptable.
- Experience in overseeing the 360-development cycle from front end acquisition, appraisal and planning through tender and management of the development to PC.
- Solid technical, programme and JCT D&B, traditional and Construction Management contracts experience
- Hands on proactive approach with an exceptional grasp of cost and deliverables
- Engaging, commercially astute and ambitious.
