About The Role
Are you passionate about delivering excellent customer service? Are you passionate and committed to providing a positive student experience? We are seeking an experienced professional to work as part of a diverse team providing campus Safety and Security and supporting students, staff and visitors on our Penryn and Falmouth Campuses. As a small team we provide a wide range of services to our campus communities from the more traditional security duties of active patrolling and attending alarms to providing frontline support and pastoral care to our students.
As a friendly, approachable and professional person you must be able to provide pastoral care by identifying and resolving student issues with empathy and sensitivity. You will have a genuine compassion towards the mental health challenges facing young people and be committed to providing a positive student experience.
About You
We are looking for candidates who have exceptional customer service skills and always maintain a professional approach. You will need effective communication skills and the ability to apply confidentiality and tact to situations. Alongside these key skills, you will be a good team worker with the willingness to support a positive and collaborative team culture.
Required Skills and Experience
- Good and thoughtful judgement with the ability to assess situations calmly and effectively
- Strong commitment to Health and Safety
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and proficiency in standards of report writing
- Full valid UK driving licence
- Good general level of fitness
A background in security is not essential as a full training package will be provided to ensure you have the knowledge and skills to work in this unique environment. Due to the nature of this role, you will also be required to undergo a standard Disclosure and Barring Service check. This position is offered on a permanent contract. The hours are 42.46 hours per week on a 4 on 4 off night shift pattern, 12 hours per shift, working 19.30 pm to 07.30 am.
