Work as a Lecturer with one of the top departments for Game Development in the world. You will be part of an experienced team of teachers, researchers, and practitioners who explore the development and production of video games. Join an ambitious team based on our stunning Penryn campus, a hub of creativity and innovation. We are looking for a motivated 3D Character Artist to join our Game Art team in the Games Academy, contributing to a university that leads at the nexus of creativity and technology and is committed to delivering an exceptional student experience.

The goal of the Games Academy is to produce top quality students and world-class research and practice. You will work with lecturers from Game Design, Game Art, Programming and everything in between to support students in building game-ready assets and to produce top-quality game projects. You will create teaching materials and develop students in their work across several modules. There is autonomy to teach an industry-standard pipeline, as we are preparing our students for jobs in the Games Industry and related Industries.

We’re seeking a proactive, solutions-focused professional with experience in 3D Character Art. Highly organised and collaborative, you will take pride in supporting colleagues and students, using your expertise to contribute to a positive, inclusive and creative environment.

We are looking for candidates with the following skills/experience:

  • Proven experience in 3D Character Art pipelines using software such as ZBrush, Maya and Substance
  • Strong understanding of current and future trends in the Games and related industries
  • Evidence of producing top-quality character models
  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team of animators, artists, designers, programmers and writers

This is a permanent, full time, 35 hour per week position working Monday-Friday. This is a campus based position, usually required 5 days per week.
