Falmouth Exeter Plus manages and delivers services at Falmouth, Penryn and Truro Campuses on behalf of Falmouth University and the University of Exeter. Working closely with the Falmouth & Exeter Students’ Union (The SU) and the wider universities partnership, we support Higher Education learning and living, ensuring that the interests of all campus users are at the heart of everything we do. We are now looking to recruit an enthusiastic and student-focused Academic Skills Advisor to join our team, working on our campuses at Penryn, Falmouth and Truro. As an Academic Skills Advisor, you will contribute to our delivery of high-quality teaching, 1:1 support and online resources supporting all students to develop academic skills at our partner universities. You will work with staff in both Universities to deliver activities in-person and online at all levels of study.

The ideal candidate will have experience of delivering study skills support, preferably in a Higher Education environment, and experience of teaching adults in groups and individually. With experience of working effectively in complex environments, you will bring a flexible and innovative approach and a willingness to embrace new technologies and relationships as the HE environment evolves. Alongside these key skills, we are looking for candidates with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a strong interest in helping students reach their potential.

The ideal candidate would have the following experience:

  • Demonstrable experience of designing and delivering innovative teaching, and developing supporting materials including online learning resources
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Adaptability and an inclusive, student-centred approach

This post is offered on a permanent, full-time, 37.5 hours per week, 35 weeks per year contract, working across Monday-Friday. The closing date for the position is Sunday 8 February 2026.
