We are seeking an experience HVAC Technician to join our Estates Service team, supporting the safe, reliable and efficient operation of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems across a complex multi-use university estate.

This is a hands-on technical role, working across academic buildings, student residences and specialist facilities, where system reliability, occupant comfort and statutory compliance are critical. The post holder will undertake planned and reactive maintenance, fault-finding and minor works on a wide range of HVAC and mechanical services plant, working closely with supervisors, fellow trades and the Estates Helpdesk to ensure work is delivered safely, professionally and to a high standard.

This role offers the opportunity to genuinely influence how compliance is delivered across a complex and diverse estate. Rather than simply maintaining existing systems, you’ll have the autonomy to shape standards, challenge delivery approaches, and drive meaningful improvements.

It’s an exciting time to join FX Plus, as our university partners continue to move ahead with ambitious growth plans. It’s an ideal position for someone looking to broaden their experience, deepen their technical capability, and play an active role in improving how an estate operates.

About You

We’re looking for someone with proven experience in HVAC or mechanical building services maintenance, ideally gained in a large or complex estate. You’ll have a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent Level 3 qualification, strong fault-finding capability, and a good working knowledge of relevant health, safety and environmental legislation.
You’ll be organised, practical and safety-focused, with the ability to manage your own workload, communicate clearly, and maintain accurate records. Experience of working in a customer-facing estates environment, and confidence using CAFM systems, would be an advantage.
For further details on the skills/experience required for this role, please see the full job description above.
This post is offered on a 37.5 hour a week, full time, permanent contract working across Monday-Friday.
