We’re seeking a Performance Marketing Specialist, on a fixed term maternity cover basis from September 2026, with demonstrable hands‑on experience managing digital advertising, tactics and platforms. Working as part of the Marketing & External Relations Team, this is a key role where you will be directly involved with creating, implementing and reporting on a solid paid media strategy; primarily driving student recruitment through effective social, search and display advertising. You will work across teams; including with colleagues across Marketing (such as Web Editors, Design teams and our Social Media & Content Officer) and wider University teams to ensure USPs and key messaging is driven by audience intent.

About You

The successful candidate for this role will be a proactive team player who is conscientious and hard‑working; who actively plays their part in continuing to make Falmouth University a great place to work. It's a fast‑paced commercial environment, and we are looking for candidates who are able to plan effectively to manage their workload, while also being proactive and agile: comfortable to change tactics as required based on platform updates. Alongside these core qualities, our ideal candidate will be a strong communicator; excellent at writing ad copy, but also communicating the value and delivery of campaigns to wider teams.

Skills & Experience

  • Recent, relevant experience in hands‑on delivery of digital advertising to deliver strong results, including ad creation, build and reporting.
  • Detailed knowledge of current digital paid media platforms (at time of writing the University advertises with Google, Meta and TikTok) and best practice, with an eye on the future of these platforms.
  • Experience of and ability to manage a substantial budget day‑to‑day.
  • Organisation skills; the ability to confidently manage a varied workload.

Working Pattern and Location

This role is a fixed‑term maternity cover position for 12 months starting on 14 September 2026 working full‑time, 35 hours per week. Please note that we are not considering part‑time or reduced hours for this role. The ideal candidate will be available to attend weekly team meetings in person on our Cornwall campuses. We are also open to hybrid or UK‑based remote workers for this role.

Benefits

In return for your hard work and commitment, we offer excellent benefits, including:

  • Employer Pension Contribution up to 12%.
  • 28 days + 8 days bank holiday.
  • Annual salary increments (until top of grade reached).
  • Enhanced Maternity/Paternity Pay/Adoption Pay.
  • Salary Sacrifice Car Scheme.
  • Salary Sacrifice Cycle Scheme.
  • Salary Sacrifice Home & Tech Scheme.
  • Life Assurance.

Equal Opportunities

Falmouth University welcomes and encourages job applications from people of all identities and backgrounds, particularly those under‑represented and/or marginalised, as it is important we have a diverse range of candidates to consider.
